Even in our moments of greatest achievement, or greatest success, Nemesis lurks, waiting to remind us that we are only human and very vulnerable. Does that sound like I'm killing Hope or just issuing caution?

this means you are realistic and want to keep doors opened in future for further successes

Ha means that well...dont think too much, take everyday as it comes and each moment as it happens. Caution is good, but IF it kills hope then it should be avoided. Hope is very precious, there's so less of it in the air these days.

caution is better than cure and it is always great to have our feet on the ground even if our head is in the clouds.

but being hopeful isnt being in the clouds. it is just having faith in the unseen, which has been prescribed for better life!

i don't know whether it means hope or tends to induce pessimism. No it can't be making us pessimistic, rather saving us from the pitfalls, vanity may drag us into...

seher and umer thanks for dropping by...

this sentence and the responses everyone gave made me deduce that although we have bête noire tailing us around every corner realizing the fact should not make us hopeless instead should mix both hope and caution together so we know when to step forward and when to step back...

*whew* that was a bit too moralistic even for me :P

if i'm allowed to stretch the matter further by quoting Prof. Dumbly-dor say: "Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery." Does it make any sense here?

hmmm gud question!
in a way it duz becoz if we cum foul of our personal nemesis we have to recover to move forward again...and just coz we have fallen duznt mean we can't stand again so yes by understanding and accepting what went wrong we can recover and progress...hmmm now am i making sense??!

It reminds of a dialouge from Batman Begins/Where Alfred, butler of Batman, said the same thing, and it sounded beautiful (rarely it happen in movies)/He said, 'master! why do we fall?' [batman lying in his destroyed home, in despair], Alfred continues, 'so that we can learn to pick ourselves up!' [and, then batman....]
